While crusing around Kenosha WI with My Friend Matt Grimmer we had the experience of meeting Arkansas slim, on our way home from Frank's diner...We gave him a short lift, some coins, a few cream sodas and continued on our day.  Diamond Days Reference is from a minocqua summer camp...Thanks V and the rest of clearwater for the help with those lyrics...

when did you get here when did you arrive when did you get here when did you arrive cascading all that sunlight into my soul on a diamond day on a diamond day

Well there was a man named arkansas slim walking down the side of the road the day was hot and things were lookin Grim so we pulled over to help him with his load On his back was  pack where he could store a nomad's home you know life can lonsome way out there when you're walking down the hobo road and that homemade cart for his epiphone guitar kept company just fine for a man named arkansas slim

He'd been travelin all day for as long as forty years and the food from Franks diner helped to squelch the tears that sometimes arise when you have to look a stranger in the eye and ask for mercy but he wasn't looking for money or a free ride honey just directions to the interstate he had to make it to chicago to catch a train and he was late he was late  he was late for a very important date yea that man named arkansas slim

when did you get here when did you arrive was it a sunday or a monday or a tuesday or a wednesday or a thursday or a friday or maybe a saturday night or on a diamond day on a diamond day on  a diamond day on a diamond day...

So he keeps traveling from his home to see the purple mountains majesties it's true to say that he has been from sea to shining sea, some folks they lend him an ear or dollar bills or grass and beer  and when he's lucky he will have a place to lay his head

many stories he has found from crooked roads we're glory bound this land we call the USA was made for you to see and It belongs to everyone mother daughter brother son as father time keeps pressing on just go the time is right on a diamond day

dear john paul said let it be and time will be the judge of thee and mother mary can't you see the coming of the knight...you are welcome come on in the water's warm go take a swim forget your troubles wash way your sins man named arkansas slim
